We will miss the teachings of Pope John Paul II. He truly represented Christ on earth. He was not afraid to tell us the "truth". He never wavered from it.
I sauw the Holy Father on one of his visits to the US. We were at a racetrack, sitting high up in the stands. We had traveled all night on a bus in the rain. We got there about 4 o'clock in the morning. When the Pope arrived, the crowd cheered and a sense of excitement surrounded us. Next to us in the next section, there were younsters from a Catholic grade school. They kept yelling "John Paul II, we love you!". After a few minutes, our Holy Father got up and came to the microphone. He raised his hands to the section where the students were and said: "John Paul II, loves you too!". The students were screaming, they were so happy. I looked around in our group and there wasn't a dry eye in the group.
Our Holy Father touched us all. I think because he wasn't afraid to let us all know that his great love for Jesus and Mary spilled over to us, Jesus' people.
Thank you Jesus, for John Paul II. He was a true representative of your Love for us.
Grant him eternal rest in your Kingdom, we pray, Lord.
John Paul II, we still love you.
