Live Talk Shows
For the first few years of its existence, EWTN scheduled first its four-hour then its 6-hour broadcasting day with pre-taped and syndicated programming.

Thinking that the Lord's work required no less than the best and the most

up-to-date means of modern communications, EWTN launched its flagship live series, "Mother Angelica Live." After the network moved to 24-hour programming and began to reach more countries and continents, EWTN added 3 live shows in 1997:

"Mother Angelica Live" features Bible lessons taught by Mother Angelica on Tuesday evenings and discussions with prominent  Catholic theologians, clergy, and laypersons on Wednesday evenings. Topics range from the traditions of the Catholic faith to current church issues. The highlight of each "Mother Angelica Live" show is the call-in segment, which allows viewers from the comfort of their home to call and talk directly with Mother Angelica and her special guests. This segment has become a time for special prayer requests as well as an opportunity for sharing the joys and struggles of the spiritual journey. More than just a program, a real miracle of television.

In 1997, three additional weekly live shows debuted on EWTN: "Life on the Rock" with host Jeff Cavins; "The World Over" with host Raymond Arroyo; "The Journey Home" with host Marcus Grodi.
