Veteran Newscaster Brian Patrick Brings “Son Rise Morning Show” to EWTN
Irondale, AL (EWTN) – “Son Rise Morning Show,” a unique, fast-paced Catholic radio talk show, made its national debut Jan. 5 when EWTN Global Catholic Network added the Cincinnati-based radio talk show to its “something for everyone” morning lineup.
The show, hosted by veteran Newscaster Brian Patrick, airs 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. ET Monday through Friday, and includes approximately 25 guests per week.
On any given day, listeners can hear segments dealing with everything from news (of all sorts), Catholic history and catechetics to music, film, and Bible food recipes -- as well as relationship advice and pastoral counseling.
“We’ve found so many great people that nobody has ever heard of before,” says Producer Matt Swaim. “We’re excited about showing them off. We have new evangelization dynamos ready to be unleashed!”
Those dynamos include people like:
· Bill Donaghy, who is doing a new blog with Christopher West, called “Twisted Mystics,” which looks at “Songs of Our Culture with the Voice of the Theology of the Body.”
· Rita Heikenfeld from abouteating.com, who talks about Bible food and gives listeners recipes to try.
· Anthony Buono of avemariasingles.com, who counsels faithful single Catholics, and
· MaryBeth Hicks, who redefines what’s cool for kids in “Bringing up Geeks” -- Genuine, Enthusiastic, Empowered Kids.
This is just a sampling of the many people who guest on this unique new program.
“The show has aired locally in Cincinnati on Sacred Heart Radio for just over a year,” says Thom Price, Director of Programming and Production for EWTN Radio. “EWTN is adding it to its weekday lineup because of its faithfulness to Church teachings, high quality of host, guests and topics and fast pace – just right for the mornings!”
Host Patrick’s career has taken him from a Top 10 radio station in Chicago, to the number one morning radio show in Indianapolis, to a top news talk show in Cincinnati and into television in that same market, where he worked for 17 years at an ABC News affiliate.
EWTN Global Catholic Network, in its 27th year, is available in over 148 million television households in more than 140 countries and territories. With its direct broadcast satellite television and radio services, AM & FM radio networks, worldwide short-wave radio station, Internet website www.ewtn.com and publishing arm, EWTN, is the largest religious media network in the world.
