Pope Francis will travel to the Holy Land May 24-26. It's only a three-day trip, but it is packed not only with events, but significance! One of trip's primary purposes is to advance ecumenical relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church. That's why it is taking place on the 50th anniversary of an historic visit between Pope Paul VI and Patriarch Athenagoras. However, the Pontiff will also meet with Israeli & Palestinian leaders, & with religious leaders from the Catholic, Jewish, Orthodox & Muslim communities as well as with refugees & young people with disabilities. The motto for this trip is "Ut unum sint," which means "That they may be one."
