Cardinal Peter Erdo was born in Hungary on June 25, 1952. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1975, and is considered one of Eastern Europe's experts in canon law. On October 21, 2003, he was created a cardinal, and assigned the titular church of St. Balbina. He is Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest.
