I arrived In Amman, Jordan last night and, after quickly checking into the wonderful Marriott Hotel and suite, arranged by a friend here in Jordan, Huda and her husband picked me up and we joined Cardinal McCarrick, archbishop emeritus of Washington, D.C., for dinner at a famous Lebanese restaurant in the Intercontinental hotel.

It was one of those wonderful, memorable evenings that life seems to offer me with great frequency. This is one of the reasons why, when people say to me, "God bless you," I usually reply, "He has indeed!"

This morning I prepared my Vatican Insider show.....unique for this weekend as it features only my conversation with David Neuhaus, no news segment, no Q&A. It is a riveting assessment of Pope Francis' Holy Land pilgrimage. More tomorrow.

I did some other work, had lunch at the hotel and in mid-afternoon I went to one of the Amman offices of Caritas Jordan. I spent about 90 minutes with Suhad Zarafili, one of the most intelligent, loving, committed people i will ever meet, an extremely articulate woman whose zeal and love for her work would fill me with envy if I did not already feel the same way about my work. A big story on Caritas soon.

Tomorrow I go to fabled Petra. An early alarm so will close this as it is late. Remember to go to Facebook and Twitter!
