Tomorrow, July 4, is, of course, a holiday at EWTN, as it is most places. I hope all of you who follow mo so assiduously during the week have a marvelous and happy and festive weekend and that, for the most part at least, the weather cooperates (Ive been following weather on the East Coast on TV).

The Telephone company has not completed its work on upgrading our neighborhood to fiber optics for better Internet, phone service, etc. so I am still (somewhat) without Internet. This has affected not only my home and office but many stores in the area ads well, including two Internet Point stores. I did buy an Internet key but that seems to have huge limitations. I can access Google and Gmail but not, for example, Yahoo or my EWTN email or the EWTN web site on my home computer. Thus, I cannot post this column from home and have asked my colleagues at EWTN to post for me.

I was able to do some work today at the press office and shortly will go to La Vittoria for a quick bite to eat and to use the wi-fi there.

In the meantime, just a quick heads up on VATICAN INSIDER this weekend. Because of the Internet problems, Vatican Insider will be a best of and I left the choice of programming to my radio colleagues in Alabama.

I have some photos Id like to post from last evenings July 4th party at the residence of the U.S. ambassador to the Holy See, Ken Hackett and his wife, Joan. Ill put those on my Facebook page IF I can access it!

Just a note. Have a blessed weekend!
