Spanish Ham and Cheese Bocadillos

Description:

Pilgrims have to sometimes eat on the move, and these handheld sandwiches provide the flavors of Spain in some traditional and unique ways.

Serves: 1 person

Cook Time: 20 Minutes

 

INGREDIENTS:

1 Small Baguette Bread, cut lengthwise

1 Tbs Butter

1 tsp Paprika

2-3 Slices Serrano or Iberico Ham

1-2 Slices Smokey Cheese

3-4 Slices Roma Tomato

2 tsp Parsley, minced

2 tsp Olive oil

¼ cup Arugula

½ tsp Salt and Pepper

 

How To Make:

  1. Open the bread lengthwise.
  2. Melt butter in the pan.
  3. Toast the inside of the bread until slightly browned. 
  4. Remove the bread from the pan and assemble the sandwich with layers of ham and cheese. 
  5. Place sandwich back in the pan & cover to melt the cheese & warm the meat. 
  6. In a small bowl, combine the parsley, tomato, and olive oil.  Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Set aside. 
  7. Remove the bocadillos from the pan, open the sandwich, and top off with fresh arugula & a spoonful of the combined parsley, tomato, and olive oil.
