why are the all the clergy wearing white at papal mass
Question from May on 12/12/2015:

I have noticed all the clergy wearing white at the papal mass and other special masses. Is there a special reason for this?

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 12/12/2015:

Dear May,

White is the color of celebration. Green is the color of hope. Purple is the color of repentance. As the Mass is celebrated throughout the year the color of the priest's vestments changes.

Dr. Geraghty
