Pope Francis' Upcoming Trip to Sweden
Question from RM on 9/5/2016:

Please help! Our Bible Study Class got into a heated discussion on whether or not it is a good idea for Pope Francis to attend the anniversary of the Reformation and be a guest of the Lutheran church. Is this a good thing?

Answer by Fr. Jay Toborowsky on 9/6/2016:

Well, we cannot say the Protestant Reformation was a "fad" or "flash in the pan". It's a fact of history that we must all acknowledge, regardless of what side we are on.

That being said, I cannot imagine any insults or disrespect being planned by Protestant officials, if Pope Francis is going to be in their midst. You can be sure the Vatican diplomatic corps and Secretariat of State has been working with Swedish officials on the details of this trip.
