Dr. Geraghty, As far as I know, Catholics were only prohibited from reading certain translations of the bible. During the middle ages, the Albigensian heresy was cited in some of these translations. Otherwise Catholics are not forbiden to read authorized translations. Unfortunately, my experience has benn that there is not enough emphasis put on daily reading.
