Les Feldick
Question from Joe on 6/10/2017:

Do the Eastern Catholic Churches have an opinion of American Televangelists in general and Les Feldick in particular? thank you.

Answer by Robert Klesko on 6/13/2017:

The Eastern Churches have no specific teaching on televangelism nor Mr. Feldick. These constitute a broadly evangelical approach to the Bible, which has many flaws. The Eastern Churches prefer the Biblical interpretative tradition of the early Church Fathers, many of whom wrote commentaries on the Gospels and many Biblical books. It is preferable for all Catholics to read the Scriptures in the light of the Sacred Tradition and under the teaching authority of the Church.

Do check the EWTN website for our many resources on Bible study from a Catholic perspective. Catholic scholars like Scott Hahn, Jeff Cavins, and Steve Ray do a lot in terms of Scripture study. Also, check out the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology which has many great resources.

Hope this helps! God bless!
