EWTN Catholic Q&A
Charitable giving
Question from Joe M on 08-31-2017:

I'm very sorry to use your forum for this topic, but there was no other forum available. If a Catholic wants to give to a charity (for relief of hurricane Harvey) that is Christian from a Catholic perspective, which one(s) should be used? I'm afraid I do not have much confidence in Catholic Charities, or Catholic Relief Services reflecting orthodox Catholic values. I was thinking Knights of Columbus but do not have knowledge of their distribution ability to areas of greatest need. Any referral you can provide would be appreciated.

The KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS are a perfect choice for donations that would benefit hurricane victims. See these two articles:

and

You are very right not to donate to Catholic Charities or CRS. Thank you for asking.
