abortion
Question from ruth on 3/21/2014:

Is there any circumstance in which abortion in our Church would be allowed.? my friend seems to think there Is????

Answer by Judie Brown on 3/23/2014:

Dear Ruth

Every human being is created by God and blessed with His spirit at creation so no, not a single abortion is acceptable according to Catholic teaching.

If your friend is referring to ectopic pregnancy, the embryo and the tube in which the embryo is lodged will become infected and the infection will kill the embryo and if not treated the mother too. That is not abortion ... the infection kills the embryo, not the intentional action of a doctor.
