Question from Hank on 7/10/2013:

Hello! Does the Catholic Church view a child as 9 months old baby when the mother gives the birth? Or does the Catholic Church have another view?

Answer by Judie Brown on 7/15/2013:

Hank

The Catholic church teaches that a human being's life begins at conception/creation.

Logic tells us therefore that if the baby is born after nine months gestation then the baby is nine months old at birth.
