Evangelical Presbyterian Church
Question from Anonymous on 4/17/2014:

Dear Judie

Would you consider the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in the United States to be pro-life?

Answer by Judie Brown on 4/19/2014:

Dear Anon

Here is the link to the Evangelical Presbyterian CHurch position on abortion: http://www.epc.org/about-the-epc/position-papers/abortion/

I would suggest that they are not totally pro-life. They endorse an exception for the life of the mother. THis may be due to nothing more than the Church's understanding of the principle of double effect.

Further they support IVF which is a grave evil.

Finally the Evangelical Presbyterian Church takes no position on contraception, the root cause of abortion and in many cases, the vehicle for early day abortion.

I am not sure.
