sin
Question from Julie on 4/28/2013:

I was wondering if we can know if the effects of sin (death, decay) corrupted the earth only since we are on this planet or perhaps all that God created beyond earth? Thank you

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 8/18/2013:

Dear Julie,

The earth existed before man was created. Plants grew and perished.

so did animals. The sin of man disobedience did not change the workings of nature. What the sin did is to make man subject to death. When God created Adam and Eve, he gave them the gift of living forever and of not suffering decay. When they sinned, they lost this gift.

Dr. Geraghty
