Communion received in the hands
Question from M.D. on 6/21/2014:

I just wanted to get more information about whether or not we should be receiving the Eucharist in our hands. Once we know that we should not take Communion in our hands, is it a sin to do so?

Answer by Catholic Answers on 6/25/2014:

M.D.--

Who says it is a sin to receive Communion in the hand? The Church does not say that, and in fact has allowed for it by dispensation in some countries (including the U.S.). Anyone who seeks to interfere with a legitimate personal choice for which the Church allows by binding consciences where the Church does not ought to be politely ignored.
