Most recent Bible translation
Question from Jeanne on 12/3/2012:

When was the most recent Bible translation?

I would like to purchase a new Bible and want the most up to date translation.

Which edition do you recommend for home bible study?

Thank you.

Answer by Fr. John Echert on 12/4/2012:

Regardless of the most recent, the one I recommend among relatively recent versions which are approved by the Church is the RSV-CE (Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition). Do not confuse this with the RSV or the NRSV. Ignatius Press publishes a number of editions of this RSV-CE, including a study edition of the New Testament.

Thanks, Jeanne

Father Echert
