Dear Father, If one looks in the Ctechism of the Catholic Church Chapter 3 on page 473 has a lot of information about them. for your unhappy correspondent I suggest he find a copy and look at pages 496 and 497. There are three columns: Exodus 20:2-17, Deuteronomy 45:6-21 and "A Traditional Catechetical Formula. It is easy to see that our list is much easier to learn and still has the basic tenets. If one reads the entire chapter, you will find that those brief "word"s mean a lot more than what is actually written. The one have trouble with is #5. I have been taught that a better translation is "murder" and not "kill"
