Christmas Trees
Question from lroy on 1/10/2014:

I do not understand the objection some people or religions object to Christmas trees just because it is a "pagan custom".

In particular, evergreen trees can be truly Christian because in a sense you can compare it to God--never changing, always there (unlike pine trees that lost their needles).

Answer by Richard Geraghty on 1/11/2014:

Dear Iroy,

A good point. We should remember that pagans are not all bad. All the people from Adam and Eve on until the coming of Abraham were pagans. There were good ones and bad ones just as today there are good Catholics and bad Catholics. A pagan who acknowledged the existence of God as Maker and Judge got to heaven.

Dr. Geraghty
