Spouse of Mary
Question from Gail on 8/20/2013:

Who is the spouse of Mary? The Holy Spirit? God the Father? St. Joseph?

Answer by Catholic Answers on 8/21/2013:

Gail--

St. Joseph was the husband of the Blessed Virgin during their earthly lives. In a mystical sense, the Blessed Virgin is sometimes called "the spouse of the Holy Spirit," in part because it was by the act of the Holy Spirit that the Incarnation occurred (cf. Luke 1:35).
