"Turning the other Cheek"
Question from Connie on 12/12/2012:

Dear Father, In a previous post you asked for examples of "turning the other cheek." Recently our priest tried to explain that situation with two examples. I remember one: Mother Theresa of Calcuta had a thirsting, dehydrated man with her and she approached a man for a drink of water for her friend. The man spat in her face. She didn't retaliate, stood her ground with dignity, said "thank you and now would you please give my friend a drink of water." I guess you could say she turned the other cheek.

Answer by Fr. John Echert on 12/28/2012:

Great example, Connie. Merry Christmas.

Father Echert
