Godparents
Question from Janice on 4/8/2013:

Is it ever acceptable for a godparent to say they can no longer be a godparent because they don't agree with something a parent has done?

Answer by Catholic Answers on 4/10/2013:

Janice--

No, it is not acceptable, and besides it is an empty threat. The Church does not release godparents from their obligations merely because the godparents disapprove of a parent's actions.
