Catholic stand on divorce
Question from Elizabeth on 10/9/2013:

In what case is divorce okay in God's eyes and in the eyes of the Catholic Church?

Answer by Catholic Answers on 10/10/2013:

Elizabeth--

Divorce is never "okay" and no power on earth can dissolve a sacramental marriage. There may be grave reasons in some unfortunate cases where a husband and wife must live apart, and civil divorce can be permitted as a form of legal separation. The civil divorce does not dissolve a sacramental marriage though, and both partners must continue to observe marital chastity.
