Zechariah and Elizabeth and St. John the Baptist

Do we know how Zechariah died ? Was it martyrdom in the temple during the time of Herod, and if so, did St. Elizabeth hide with St. John the Baptist in the hill country of Judah ? I read this in FMA FOCUS, Franciscan Mission Associates from Mt. Vernon, New York, Nov. 2012/VOL 46,NO 2 ...They say it tells us this in tradition. Thank you for your help.
