Please interpret this passage. Is this related to contraception? Do I have to take this passage literally?

When the end comes, whether of the whole world ormournown world, such as a nation, the hardest things for parents may be to see their children suffer. But that is not a case for contraception, for their martyrdom wins them a crown in Heaven.
