EWTN To Air Pope’s Visit to Spain Live

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – EWTN Global Catholic Network will provide live coverage of every public event during Pope Benedict XVI’s historic visit to Spain Nov.6-7. Coverage will be aired on all nine EWTN Television Networks worldwide, and can be heard in English, Spanish, French and German; on EWTN Radio Network, and at www.ewtn.com through live streaming video. EWTN’s coverage of these events will begin at 6:30 a.m. ET, Sat., Nov. 6 with the Pope’s arrival in Santiago de Compostela for a welcoming ceremony with the Prince and Princess of Asturias, followed by his visit to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela at 8 a.m. ET, and the celebration of Mass at 11:30 a.m. ET, after which the Pope will pronounce a Compostela Holy Year in the city’s outdoor plaza.

On Sun., Nov. 7, coverage begins with Mass at the Church of the “Sagrada Familia” (Holy Family) at 4 a.m. ET, followed by the Angelus in the outdoor square. At 11:15 a.m. ET, EWTN will televise the Pope’s visit to a church-run education, social and medical center in Barcelona. Finally, at 12:30 p.m. ET, viewers may enjoy the farewell ceremony and speech by the Pope at the Barcelona Airport.
