2011-04-12

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – Radio Paz in Miami, which expanded EWTN radio programming from two hours to nine hours in January 2011 as part of a restructuring that began in November 2010, saw a 50 percent increase in ratings in January over November 2010.

“We are very happy with the increase in ratings,” said Fr. Roberto Cid, Director of Radio Paz in Archdiocese of Miami. “It is a vote of confidence in our efforts to turn around Radio Paz and begin to address the serious financial problems that we face.”

EWTN President & CEO Michael P. Warsaw is equally pleased. “We have been broadcasting to the Hispanic faith community around the world for more than 22 years. We have always believed Catholic programming was of vital importance to the Hispanic community and support like this proves that it is.”

With Holy Week fast approaching, Fr. Cid said he is especially pleased to be able to offer the Hispanic community papal Masses, Holy Week retreats, concerts, dramas and other spiritually enriching programs during the holiest time of the year. He also noted that EWTN Director of Spanish Radio Production and Programming Doug Archer’s music show, “Fe Hecha Canción” has been “a great success with our people, which his remarkable because we are an AM station.” For a complete program schedule, please check the Radio Paz (830 AM) website at www.radiopaz.org.
