Tornado Relief Birmingham Bishop Baker & EWTN President Michael Warsaw Will Join the Knights of Columbus & Local Catholic Parishes In Pratt City Monday, May 23 to Distribute Food & Clothing

Irondale, AL (EWTN) –Bishop Robert J. Baker of the Catholic Diocese of Birmingham and EWTN Chief Executive Michael P. Warsaw will join volunteers to serve breakfast and to distribute $70,000 worth of men’s clothing to tornado victims Monday, May 23 at Scott School in Pratt City. The Bishop arrives at 8:30 a.m., and breakfast begins at 9 a.m.

Since the Birmingham area was devastated by a series of tornados, Catholic parishes and the Knights of Columbus in the Diocese of Birmingham have been serving meals, clearing debris, distributing food, clothing and other necessities, and providing shelter and much needed funds to thousands of tornado victims under the leadership of Bishop Baker.

Warsaw has put the resources of EWTN at the Bishop’s disposal, giving employees up to three days of paid time to volunteer at disaster sites, and lending various EWTN managers to the diocese to help coordinate efforts. Monday’s volunteers will include the Knights of Columbus, the parishes of St. Peter’s in Hoover, St. Mark’s in Birmingham, Our Lady of the Valley in Birmingham, and St. Thomas in Montevallo, as well as EWTN employees from around the diocese. Clothing was donated to Our Lady of the Valley Church by Men’s Wearhouse.
