Irondale, Alabama, USA (EWTN) – EWTN, the Global Catholic Network, now has its television service on SKY Guide number 680. The availability of the Network on SKY’s direct-to-home satellite platform makes EWTN’s television programming accessible to more than 7.8 million SKY subscribers, representing a sizable leap in the number of EWTN viewers in the United Kingdom and Ireland who already receive the EWTN television service. It also completes EWTN’s presence on digital satellite, where the Network’s radio service has already been on SKY Guide 897 for some years.

SKY subscribers now have access to the Network’s varied offering of Catholic cultural and educational programming, spiritual conferences, wholesome family entertainment, a Daily live Mass and other devotionals, as well as exclusive and complete live coverage of Vatican and papal events, including the weekly audience of Pope Benedict XVI.

Michael P Warsaw, EWTN’s President, commented: “We are delighted that we can now satisfy the innumerable requests we have received throughout recent years for the availability of our television service on SKY. We thank God for this wonderful development.”

EWTN Global Catholic Network, founded in the United States in August 1981, is available in 118 million television households in 110 countries. With its direct broadcast satellite service, satellite delivered AM & FM radio networks, its worldwide short-wave radio station, and Internet website www.ewtn.com, EWTN is an impressive and effective tool for making known the 2,000-year spiritual and cultural heritage of the Catholic Church.
