EWTN to Air Installation of Archbishop Timothy Dolan As Tenth Archbishop of New York

Irondale, AL (EWTN) – EWTN Global Catholic Network will air both Solemn Vespers and the Mass of Installation of the Most Reverend Timothy M. Dolan, as the tenth Archbishop of the Archdiocese of New York live from St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

The three-hour Mass of Installation will air globally, with a Spanish translation, on all of EWTN’s television channels as well as on radio. In the U.S., the event will air live at 1:30 p.m. ET, Wednesday, April 15, and will encore at 2 p.m. ET, Saturday, April 18. Viewers in the greater New York City area can access EWTN on Time Warner Cable Channel 146; viewers in the greater NYC/Long Island area can tune into Verizon’s FiOS TV on Channel 285; viewers in the Bronx & Brooklyn can tune into Cablevision Channel 59. EWTN is also available on DirecTV, Dish Network, and Sirius Satellite Radio.

Solemn Vespers, sung evening prayer in which Archbishop Dolan will be received as the new Archbishop of New York, will also air globally, with a Spanish translation, on all of EWTN’s television channels. In the U.S., the live two-and-a-half hour event will air live at 6:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, April 14 and will encore at 11 p.m. ET.

More than 5,000 guests – including 150 American Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops as well as political, ecumenical and interfaith leaders -- will attend the ceremonies. Both rites will include a homily by Archbishop Dolan.
